What is MCM?

Picture of MCM busThe Morris County Metro bus system consists of seven bus routes.

PABCO Transit Inc. in Dover, under contract with NJ Transit, operates the MCM. The MCM is subsidized by the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

All buses are lift-equipped. Service animals, portable oxygen tanks, respirators, and personal care attendants are all permitted on MCM bus lines.

  Where does it Run? Where does it Go?

Nearly all municipalities in Morris County have some MCM bus service. Most bus routes serve Headquarters Plaza in Morristown where convenient transfers can be made.

  Fare Information

MCM buses require passengers to have exact change to pay for fares. One-dollar bills and coins are accepted.

How to determine your fare

Your fare is based on the number of zones you travel through, similar to the NJ TRANSIT system. If you have any trouble, bus drivers will be able to assist you.

Reduced Fare Programs

  • Children ages 5-11 save 50% or more with a standard adult ticket.
  • Senior citizens (62 and older) can travel on-board NJ TRANSIT trains, buses, and light rail vehicles at a reduced fare of 50% or more off the standard adult ticket. Some form of ID is required. Riders can show a driver's license, MTA Reduced Fare Card, PA Senior Citizen Transit ID or PACE Card, PATH Senior Fare Card, or Medicare Card.
  • Passengers with disabilities must present a NJ TRANSIT Reduced Fare ID or Medicare Card to obtain the reduced fare. Call (973) 378-6401 for more information on the Reduced Fare Program.


Monthly Passes Available

Monthly Passes are available for frequent riders at a substantial discount. To obtain a pass, go to a NJ TRANSIT ticket agent or contact NJ TRANSIT at: Mail-Fare One Penn Plaza East Newark, NJ 07105-2246

You Can Ride With Your Rail Pass

NJ TRANSIT monthly rail passes can also be used on MCM buses. Monthly rail passes contain a zone number on them. The amount of zones included on your rail pass makes you eligible for the same amount of zones on your bus pass.

As for weekly rail passes, MCM buses allows up to one zone with no additional charge.
